Questions?
Here are some of the most common questions I get about working together. If you don’t see your question listed or are ready to schedule a free consult, contact me.

I’m located in Huntsville, AL and provide in-person therapy at 604 Davis Circle SW, Huntsville, AL 35801 in Downtown Huntsville. There is free parking on-site and the building is accessible. I offer my clients the choice of either in-person or online sessions.
I am able to provide online therapy to anyone residing in the states of Alabama, California, New Mexico, and Virginia.

Online therapy gives you the convenience of meeting wherever it’s most comfortable for you, without the commute. This could be at home or in the office. All you need is a private space and good internet connection.
Whether you prefer the flexibility of online sessions or simply feel more comfortable discussing issues from the comfort of your home, online therapy is an effective alternative to in-person therapy.
Sessions are conducted with a secure HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform. You don’t have to download anything to your computer and will receive a session link prior to every appointment.
Available to residents across Alabama, California, New Mexico, and Virginia.

I am currently an out-of-network provider for all insurance at this time. To see what your benefits are, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask them what your out of network benefits are for mental health therapy. I also work with Mentaya, a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions. To see if you qualify for reimbursement, you can use this link.
I will provide you with a Superbill to submit to your insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, healthcare providers and healthcare facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal healthcare program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

For the free consultation, we’ll cover why you’re seeking therapy, your location (I only see clients in Alabama, California, New Mexico, and Virginia), and logistics and scheduling. You’ll also have an opportunity to ask me any questions you have about working together.
For the intake appointment, we’ll spend the hour reviewing informed consent documents and the intake forms you completed to better understand your needs and goals.

In my experience, clients see the most benefit when they are able to commit to weekly therapy sessions upfront. This allows me to get to know you and your unique challenges, and tailor tools to help. It’s difficult to build momentum working together every other week or once a month.
Clients often see significant improvement within 8-12 weeks, but your therapy may be longer or shorter depending on your goals and the complexity of issues you are bringing to therapy. Clients often reduce their number of sessions as they start to feel better.
